Valuable Lessons I Learned From Whale Talk

I finished reading Whale Talk on October 19, 2013. It is an excellent novel. Not  only was I entertained by reading the novel, I also learned some valuable lessons from the novel. The lessons I learned are listed below.

1. Before you start your truck or car, always check if anything or anyone is under the tires. A baby gets killed in the book by being crushed under a truck's tire because the truck driver didn't check under the truck before he started the engine.

2. Don't make fun of a mentally disabled kid or you will be humiliated. In the novel, a jock makes fun of a mentally disabled kid but he gets humiliated by the kid because the mentally disabled kid beat him in a swimming race because the jock underestimated him.

3. With determination, one can achieve their goals, even if all the odds are against him. Initially the swim team was very bad but they won the state championships because of their determination.
